Saturday 11 November 2017 – The Melbourne Cup Carnival has come to a close with another successful Emirates Stakes Day at Flemington, which featured two Emirates races.

On the last race of the carnival, Tosen Stardom took out the Emirates Stakes delivering a win for trainer Darren Weir, ridden by jockey Damien Lane. While Kentucky Breeze, dazzled the crowd, securing first place in the Emirates Airline Handicap.

In the Birdcage, Emirates hosted a number of guests for the final day of the carnival in its luxurious, inflight themed marquee, including entrepreneur Janine Allis, Commonwealth Games hopeful Amy Pejkovic, tennis player Shane Groth and actors Mavournee Hazel and Olympia Valance.

Highlights from the day included the Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field for younger racegoers and families, which offered attendees the opportunity to impress in the fashion stakes.

The kids stole the show at the Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field with the competition taking place at The Park. The Palmer family, took out the Fashions on the Field competition with the major prize including Emirates return flights from Melbourne to Dubai.

In the marquee, guests enjoyed fresh seafood at the raw fish and oyster bar, which included poached king prawns, freshly shucked oysters with lime and shallot, Port Lincoln kingfish in coconut lime, green chilli and coriander.
